How to enable hardware acceleration in Tanki Online
How to enable hardware acceleration in Tanki Online
Attention. Linux operating system supports hardware acceleration only when using Google Chrome and built-in PPAPI plugin of Flash Player.Enabling Flash Hardware acceleration:
1. Update Flash player to 11.x. version. Use the link.
2. Update your GPU’s drivers.
- nVidia
- ATi Radeon
3. Load in a Tanki server. Then, right-click with your mouse and select ‘Settings’.
4. On the Settings screen, go to the first section, then check the box next to ‘Enable hardware acceleration’.
5. After you have done this, close the Settings menu and restart your browser.
Disabling Flash Hardware acceleration:
If after enabling the acceleration, you can no longer join a battle, as the map is not loading, you need to disable the Hardware acceleration
1. To disable the Hardware acceleration, you have to be in a Tanki game server. Then, right-click with your mouse and select ‘Settings’
2. On the Settings screen, go to the first section, then remove the tick from ‘Enable hardware acceleration’
3. After you have done this, close the Settings menu and restart your browser.
Fine-tuning of your GPU:
If you do not like the image quality after enabling Hardware acceleration, you can change different game settings and GPU settings.
1. In the game’s Settings you can enable or disable ‘Mip-Mapping’. Attention! After enabling it, when you go in a battle for the first time, there will be some ‘display pauses’. This happens because Mips have to be created. This won’t take more than a minute.
2. In your graphics card’s settings, you can adjust ‘Anti-aliasing’ and ‘Anisotropic Filtering’. Each of them changes the image on the screen in its own way.

How to enable visual effects
How to enable visual effects
If Soft Particles, Dynamic shadows or other effects are missing from Settings, there can be several reasons for that:- Automatic graphics quality is enabled. It means that settings are adjusted automatically according to the performance of your PC. Uncheck the box next to it to choose settings yourself.
- Hardware acceleration is disabled. Instructions on how to enable it.
- Hardware acceleration is not working. Update your flash player.
- Hardware acceleration is working in constrained mode (Constrained Profile or CP). CP is used for older GPUs. Settings are not available in this mode.
This can easily be checked using a special tool on Adobe website. Let’s look into it in detail:
(Compare the text from the tool with the points below)Your gpu supports Stage3D in both Baseline and Constrained profile!
Baseline RenderMode:
DirectX9
Constrained RenderMode:
DirectX9 (Baseline Constrained) Everything is supported. All the options are available in Settings.
Your gpu supports Stage3D in Baseline profile, but it appears you are using an older player which does not support Constrained profile. Consider updating your player to version 11.4 or higher to gain access to Stage3D content that uses Constrained profile.
Render Mode: DirectX9 (Direct blitting) You use an old version of Flash player. Update it and try again.
Your gpu does not support Stage3D in Baseline profile, but it may support Constrained profile. Please update your player to version 11.4 or higher to see if Constrained profile is supported.
Render Mode: Software (Direct blitting) Hardware acceleration does not work and your graphics card does not support those options. But you can try to turn on Hardware acceleration in limited mode by updating Flash Player.
Your gpu supports Stage3D in both Baseline and Constrained profile!
Baseline RenderMode:
OpenGL
Constrained RenderMode:
OpenGL (Baseline Constrained) You use Google Chrome and the integrated PPAPI-flash plugin is turned on. Disable it (recommended) and try again.
Your gpu does not support Stage3D in Baseline or Constrained profile.
Baseline RenderMode:
Software Hw_disabled=oldDriver
Constrained RenderMode:
Software Hw_disabled=oldDriver (Baseline Constrained) You have to update your graphics card’s drivers. Update them (ATI, nVidia) and try again.
Your gpu does not support Stage3D in Baseline or Constrained profile.
Baseline RenderMode:
Software Hw_disabled=userDisabled
Constrained RenderMode:
Software Hw_disabled=userDisabled (Baseline Constrained) Hardware acceleration turned off – enable it and try again.
Additional (for DirectX9E)
Your gpu supports Stage3D in Constrained profile but not Baseline profile.
Baseline RenderMode:
Software Hw_disabled=unavaiable
Constrained RenderMode:
DirectX9Ex (Baseline Constrained) Old and not unproductive integrated video adapter. FPS is always low, or constantly drops. Probably it is better to disable Flash hardware acceleration.
Your gpu supports Stage3D in both Baseline and Constrained profile!
Baseline RenderMode:
DirectX9Ex
Constrained RenderMode:
DirectX9Ex (Baseline Constrained) Everything is supported, nothing is missing from Settings, but the FPS is low.
The game uses integrated graphics processor (for example, HD 4000), instead of dedicated graphics card.
Solution: Set your video driver so the Flash Player, or its container (plugin-container.exe in Firefox, chrome.exe in Chrome) uses a dedicated graphics card instead of an integrated one.

Reporting an offender in battle
Imagine that you are in an interesting battle, but suddenly, someone from the opposing team begins to violate the rules of the game. This is where the useful ability to “Report Abuse” comes in.
All you need to do is type in the chat command: /vote name_of_offender and press Enter.
For something to happen, 25% of the players in the battle need to report the offender. If this happens, the player’s nickname turns black for the moderators and the battle in which it is located will be highlighted in the list of battles creating an excellent signal to alert the moderator. At this stage – leave it all to the moderators. They have already received special instructions.
It is important to remember several points:
A moderator will see the battle and the events in it only after entering the battle. He/she does not have the chat and events log, so it is important to inform him/her of the situation promptly.
Remember, the complaint highlights the player’s nickname only if a sufficient number of people complained. Do not think that one or two complaints will be enough.
All that you need to do is enter the chat command /vote name_of_offender and press Enter. After that, wait.
Be aware that a moderator may sometimes not come into battle with complaints. Since this is not an automatic system, there might be no moderators on the server at the moment.
Remember that your complaint is only valid as long as the offender is in the battle, as well as all those who complained. If someone leaves – the complaint is reset.
Complaining to the moderators in the chat is impossible. This can be done only in the forum.
Do not send complaints about players who have not violated any rules. All complaints are logged and carefully checked by moderators.
The username of the offender can be copied from the battle log at the top right corner of the interface. In order to do that, you need to left-click on the name of offender while holding CTRL.

What is e-mail, how do I create it and use it?
What is e-mail, how do I create it and use it?
E-mail is a method of exchanging digital messages from an author to one or more recipients. Today’s e-mail systems are based on a store-and-forward model. E-mail servers accept, forward, deliver and store messages. Neither the users nor their computers are required to be online simultaneously; they need connect only briefly, typically to an e-mail server, for as long as it takes to send or receive messages. Why do I need e-mail in Tanki Online?
1. You can always recover your password if you lost it;
2. In case of some issues with the game you can always contact technical support at help@tankionline.com and ask for assistance.
3. If your account is linked to an e-mail, it is a lot easier to recover it in case your account gets stolen.
There are plenty of options you can choose from if you want an e-mail. Let’s take one of the most popular ones, Google Mail, as an example.
Creating an e-mail account/mailbox
1. Go to google.com and click on Gmail at the top of the screen.
2. Click on “Create an Account”
3. A page called “Create a new Google Account” will appear. You need to fill in all the fields on the right. The most important one is “Choose your username” as it will define the name of your e-mail. Enter the one you would like to have. If the username you entered is already used by someone else, the system will warn you and ask you to choose another one. Fill in all the fields. Do not forget to check the box next to “I agree to the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy”.
4. If everything has been done correctly, a page with congratulations should appear. Click on “Continue to Gmail” there.
5. You will then be directed to your newly created mailbox. If you want to get acquainted with the service, you can read a mini-guide on how to use it, which will appear immediately after you enter the mail box.
Writing an email
1. Click on “Compose”.
2. Enter the email address of a person you want to contact in the “To” field. For example if you want to contact Tanki Online technical support, you need to write help@tankionline.com. Don’t forget to mention what you are writing about in the “Subject” field and describe everything in the field below that.
3. After entering all the necessary information, send the email by clicking on “Send”.
4. That is it. Your email has been sent to customer support. Now you just need to wait for the response. According to the rules of the game, a reply will be issued within a 30 day timeframe, but usually it takes no more than 8 hours. The answer will be sent to the same email you used to contact customer support.

Screenshots with violation of the chat rules (containing obscene or abusive language, links to malware / third-party software, phishing, etc.) must be sent via PM to chat moderators. Uploading them to the forum is strictly prohibited!
How to correctly compose a letter to a moderator to make sure that it is accepted:
1. First of all, the screenshot (or the video) that you submit should clearly show evidence of the violation. Screenshots must be full-sized (not downscaled or cropped).
2. The subject line should specify the nickname of the offender and the type of violation, such as “TANKMEN123 – insult”.
3. Such messages are to be sent only to the chat moderators. The full list of staff members can be found here. If there is a message next to the nickname of a moderator saying that they are temporarily unavailable, there is no point in sending them your message.
4. You also need to provide a link to the screenshot (using the [img] tag or without it) or video.
5. You should only send the letter to one moderator, as it will only complicate their work.
Good luck!
Offenders in the game
First of all, you need to read the rules of the game and make sure the player’s actions are truly violations.
You need to collect evidence. The best form of proof is a video, which clearly shows the violation. The minimum length of the video is 3 minutes.
In the process of recording the video of the offender, you should show the battle statistics (by pressing Tab) at least once. The quality of the video and screenshots should clearly display all the nicknames and ranks.
You need to create a new thread in the “Violators” section of the forum. In the title of the topic, it is necessary to specify the player’s nickname and nature of violation. For example, “arts80 – speedhack” or “wolf – power-levelling”.
Remember, the quality of the topic directly affects the speed of its analysis.
In the body of the topic you also need to specify the player’s nickname, attach the proof (screenshot or video) and add any important details.
You may need to find witnesses. For example, you can send the link of this topic to the players who participated in the battle where the violation occurred. Sometimes a moderator may ask witnesses to reply to the violation topic in order to prove it.
If there is not enough evidence, the topic will be closed. Moderators and the administration of the game are the only ones who can decide whether the player is guilty or not.
When recording a video of sabotage, the reporting player has no right to violate the rules of the game themselves. All complaints of sabotage will be considered in the light of all the participants of the battle, including the creator of the video.
As soon as the moderator decides that the evidence of a violation is sufficient, the player will be punished (with the assistance of developers or technical support specialists). The severity of the punishment will be determined by the administration of the game.
The penalty can be a warning, a fine in the form of experience points or crystals, removal of certain objects from garage, blocking of access to the game’s forum or chat, as well as the complete blocking of access to the game.
Remember that it’s impossible to get the solution immediately. Have patience. Violators will be punished in any case.
If a player reporting a violator turns out to be giving false information (slander, forgery or falsifications of the proof) he or she takes full responsibility for this and will be punished by a month ban. In case if the situation repeats, the player will be banned forever.

What is the daily bonus and how do I get it?
What is the daily bonus and how do I get it?
Every player receives daily gifts by regularly entering the game. The gifts are chosen randomly and given immediately after the game servers’ restart at 01:00 (UTC+0). If you enter the game twice or more times between restarts, you will not receive a gift (only one gift per day). What can I get as a gift?
- If your rank is lower than Gefreiter, you will always get the score multiplier pass.
- No-supplies Battle Pass, lasting 24 hours:
- Double crystal card
- Crystals
- Supplies
The amount and type of supplies are random. The number you get depends on your rank. The higher your rank, the more supplies or crystals you receive. Moreover, the amount of supplies you receive as a daily gift is equal to the worth of the crystals you receive as a daily gift at your rank.
The amount of crystals you get in a daily gift depends on your rank.
The higher you rank the more crystals you get.

If you have not entered the game with your account for 30 or more days, you will get a special bonus which consists of crystals, supplies, a Double Crystal Card and a one week Score Multiplier Pass.

How to protect yourself from fraud?
How to protect yourself from fraud?
Tankmen!Lately there have been more and more cases of stolen accounts. Unfortunately, in most cases it happens due to users’ actions.
Stay alert and do not trust scammers.
You will easily be able to protect your tank following these simple rules.
1. Have an original password. Your nickname and password should be different! Don’t use your telephone number, date of birth, real name or any other personal information that could be known to others. The password should not be easy to guess. We advise you to use at least 8 keys and symbols, including numbers, normal letters and caps.
2. Never reveal your password to anyone. The Administration and its helpers will never ask you for your password!
3. Never post your nickname or password on external websites. The administration never creates lotteries and does not provide free crystals. All the contests and events are held inside the game and are announced on the official forum.
Do not click on links appearing in the game Chat that promise you free crystals by sharing your account information. If you do this, you are literally handing your account to the scammers. Be aware that your account will be sold or used to test cheats (in case of the latter, there is no getting your account back).
4. Your email address and information about payments can only be requested through help@tankionline.com.
5. Do not provide any important information about the game to anyone on Skype.
6. Remember that most thefts happen when someone tries to sell or buy an account. In the first case you risk losing your account forever. In the second case you may lose your money. Selling and trading accounts is forbidden by the game rules and can lead to a permanent account block.
7. Be careful. Do not disclose the e-mail address linked to your account, do not write it in the forum, do not communicate it through PM, do not answer strangers’ questions about names of your pets, names of your relatives, telephone numbers, addresses, or other personal information which is probably set as a security question by your email provider.
Remember that if you lose your e-mail account, you risk not only losing the game account, but even bank accounts and credit card numbers.
The Administration neither gifts crystals, nor hires new moderators through PM or Skype.
There are no websites or programs that can give you free crystals.
If you are asked to provide any personal information in exchange for crystals, or to download a program – you are being cheated!

How to earn crystals?
How to earn crystals?
Crystals are the in-game currency, which is used for purchasing items (hulls, turrets and paints) and upgrading them. There are several ways to get crystals:
1. In battle:
By collecting the “10 crystals” boxes that can fall any time the battle fund increases by 1 crystal.
These are blue. This type of box is common, and falls frequently in most battles.
By collecting the “1000 crystals” boxes that can fall any time the battle fund increases by 1 crystal. These are golden. This type of box is rare, and is called a “Gold Box”.
2. By Fighting in a battle until its end.
The crystals in the battle fund are distributed according to the number of points each player scores during the battle.
You can always see the current battle fund of a battle in the bottom right corner of the screen.
3. In daily bonuses.
4. Another way to earn crystals is referrals. You can find more information about it here.
5. You can get crystals by taking part in contests. You can learn more about contests in the forum.

How to start playing Tanki Online
How to start playing
This page will help you to become “an experienced beginner”, who doesn’t ask silly questions in game chat and enjoys the game more.Game Loading
To play the game you do not have to download and install any programs; only Flash Player is needed. If you watch YouTube — you already have it on your computer. In case your Flash Player version is old — update your current version or install a new one.
The First Battle
Right after registration you will enter a special battle. All the players in this battle are newcomers. (i.e. their rank is equal to yours). Here you will learn to operate your tank and understand the basic functions of the game.
Tank Controls
Your tank can be controlled with the arrow keys or W,A,S and D keys. Press Spacebar to shoot, press Z and X to rotate the turret.

Arrows or WASD keys – the tank’s movement keys (you can also use arrow keys on the numeric pad when the NumLock is off).
Z and X or < and > – Turret rotation.
C or ? – Center the turret.
Spacebar – Shoot.
1–5 – Use supplies (First Aid, Double Armor, Double Power, Nitro, Mine). The effect of each supply lasts for about 1 minute.
Enter – Type a message in the chat, press Enter again to send the message.
Tab – Switch between Team chat and General chat with a chat window opened.
F – Drop the flag. (Available in Capture the Flag mode only).
Tab – Shows the scoreboard of current battle. The scoreboard displays the names and scores of the players participating in the battle.
Del or Ctrl+\ – Self-destruction. It takes time to self-destruct. A skull will appear in the center of your screen. You can also self-destruct by driving your tank off the edges of certain maps.
P or Pause – Pause.
+ & – – Increase, decrease the game screen. Smaller screen provides higher FPS rates.
Q and E or PageUp and PageDown or [ and ] – Change camera position (vertical axis).
Left-click on a player’s nickname on the scoreboard to copy his/her nickname to clipboard (useful when you use the /vote player’s nickname command to complain).
Please note: Pressing multiple keys simultaneously may cause errors on some PCs, especially when arrow keys are used for movement. It may mean the tank is unable to shoot while moving, or rotate the turret while shooting. We don’t yet have an option to customize controls, but you can use the WASD keys as alternative controls.
Game Menu (Lobby)
Once you have finished your first battle, you will see something like this on the screen:
Chat on the left, battle list in the middle and details of the selected battle on the right.

To enter a battle, choose any battle highlighted in green and click on the Play button under the details of the battle you selected.
Click the Create button at the bottom of the list of battles to create your own battle. The battle creation menu will appear. Not all maps will be available, but as your rank increases, more maps will become available.
The Play button may be disabled if the battle is full (maximum amount of allowed players) or if your rank isn’t permitted in the battle (too high or too low).
Please note: You can only create a battle within a certain range of ranks close to your own.
Have fun while playing! Stay with us!
